Brazos welcomes Patricia Coral in-store on Thursday, November 14 at 6:30 p.m. Patricia will be in conversation with Jasminne Mendez.  

Patricia Coral is a bilingual Puerto Rican writer. She holds an MFA in creative writing from American University, where she received the Myra Sklarew Award and where she was Editor in Chief of FOLIO. Coral writes creative nonfiction and poetry, but frequently her words find their home in between. The former events director for Politics and Prose Bookstore, she has contributed to numerous literary magazines.

Jasminne Mendez is a best-selling Dominican-American poet, translator, playwright and award winning author of several books for children and adults. Her debut middle grade novel in verse about a young swimmer diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis, Aniana del Mar Jumps In (Dial) was released earlier this year
